Traffic and/or Accident

Vehicle stopped, engine turned off.
2.   Â
Driver ensures that passengers are OK.
3.   Â
Driver alerts emergency services where required.
4.   Â
Driver administers first aid where required.
5.   Â
Driver checks that passengers are as comfortable as possible.
6.   Â
Arrangements made to rectify vehicle problems where appropriate and arrange for alternative transports to get passengers to destination.
Fire
1.   Â
Vehicle stopped, engine turned off.
2.   Â
Driver alerts emergency services where required.
3.   Â
Fire extinguisher used on vehicle.
4.   Â
Driver administer first aid where required.
5.   Â
Driver checks that passengers are as comfortable as possible.
6.   Â
Arrangements made to rectify vehicle problems where appropriate and arrange alternative transport for passengers to get to destination.
Other Vehicle Emergency Procedures
1.   Â
Location of fire extinguishers.
2.   Â
Location of first aid kits and identify trained personnel.
Administer CPR
DÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â -Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Check for Danger/Safety
R        -         Check adult’s Response. If no response call 000
AÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â -Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Clear and open the Airway. Check for normal breathing
BÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â -Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Give 2 Breaths. Recheck for signs of life.
CÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â -Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Give 30 check Compressions followed by 2 more breaths

Continue CPR until ambulance arrives or signs of life return.

Stop Bleeding
1.   Â
Apply direct pressure with pad.
2.   Â
Raise and rest the injured limb.
3.   Â
Bandage pad firmly in place.
4.   Â
Do not remove a foreign body.
5.   Â
Pad either side then bandage.
6.   Â
If injury severe call 000.
7.   Â
Apply new dressing if leaking.
Burns
1.   Â
Cool under running water.
2.   Â
Remove watch or jewellery.
3.   Â
Remove hot/wet clothing.
4.   Â
If victim pale, rest lying down.
5.   Â
If burn large, seek advice.
6.   Â
If burn severe call 000.
7.   Â
Apply dressing, light bandage.
