Telethon 2026 Passes $100 Million For The First Time
The Channel 7 Telethon raised $101,277,705 over the weekend, Seven West Media said after 26 hours of live broadcasting from RAC Arena. It’s the first time the total has passed $100 million, and it’s more than $11 million up on last year’s record of $90.16 million. The State Government donated a record $18 million, its fifth consecutive record donation.
“Every child deserves access to the care and support they need, no matter where they live or what challenges they face,” said Premier Roger Cook.
“Whether it’s vital medical equipment, specialist programs or life-changing research, this funding will make a real difference to sick children and their families for years to come.”
“Western Australians always dig deep for Telethon, and I’m incredibly proud to see people right across our State once again opening their hearts and giving what they can.”
“Telethon is a Western Australian institution. Generations of us have grown up with it, whether that’s calling the phone room, putting some pocket money in a collection tin, or watching the tally climb over the weekend.”
The State Government’s donation is up from $14 million last year, and the Federal Government has committed $6 million to the Channel 7 Telethon Trust for 2026. The State money funds equipment, services, programs, and medical research for children, and Telethon supports 147 beneficiaries this year.
“I’ve seen firsthand the meaningful impact your donations are having at Perth Children’s Hospital, ensuring our children continue to have access to nation-leading care,” said Health Minister Meredith Hammat.
“Your generous donations will help WA children today and also benefit the many generations of future West Australians to come.”
The Telethon Ball raised $25 million on its own, and Channel 7 commentator and former AFL player Kane Cornes raised $649,013 by running two marathons in five days.
Before the weekend, we asked the $100 million question, when the trend of recent years pointed to about $96 million. Seven says Telethon has now raised more than $879 million since it began in 1968.

Two Feet & A Heartbeat — HeartKids’ Annual Community Walk This Sunday
Put on your walking shoes this October as HeartKids’ annual Two Feet & A Heartbeat walks bring thousands of heart kids, heart adults, families, friends and supporters together across Australia.
On Sunday, October 25th, the Soong family will be sharing Arlyn’s story and leading the Two Feet & A Heartbeat walk in Perth.
Two Feet & A Heartbeat brings together children and adults living with CoHD, walking side-by-side with their families, friends, and supporters. Milestones are celebrated, remembering those whose lives were far too short, sharing heart stories, raising awareness of childhood-onset heart disease and raising vital funds to allow HeartKids to support heart families across Australia.
Funds raised through Two Feet & A Heartbeat help HeartKids provide information, support via HeartKids teams on wards in hospitals, connection and advocacy across every stage of the unique CoHD journey.
